NUMERO 4 Skateshop

We built the system behind a 10,000-SKU catalog: supplier scrapers, automatic updates, low-cost AI descriptions and an open-source stack.

The need

Keep a large supplier catalog up to date without hours of manual work.

What we built

Supplier scrapers, automatic imports, AI-generated descriptions and a custom admin built with open-source tools.

Today

10,000 SKUs that update automatically and cost less than $150 a month to host.

NUMERO 4 Skateshop

NUMERO 4 was not just a website project. Most of the work was in the system behind the catalog.

The goal

NUMERO 4 works with several suppliers and manages 10,000 SKUs. Updating each product by hand was not realistic.

We needed one system to collect supplier data, update the catalog, generate descriptions and stay cheap to run.

Automatic supplier updates

We built scrapers for each supplier. They collect product data, clean it up and import it into MedusaJS.

The imports run automatically. The catalog stays up to date without copying every change by hand.

Low-cost AI descriptions

Writing 10,000 descriptions by hand would take too long. We added AI generation to create them quickly and at low cost.

This saves time and keeps the cost per description low.

Full control with open source

MedusaJS, Remix and TypeScript make up the core of the platform. They are open source, so NUMERO 4 keeps control of its code, data and hosting.

We also built a custom admin for imports, catalog content and homepage visuals.

Today, the 10,000-SKU catalog runs smoothly, updates automatically and costs less than $150 a month to host. The website is what customers see. Behind it, the automation keeps the catalog running.
